Why we do not start with a profile stack.

By Find Your Person · Published

Product-mechanics articles are checked against the current implementation and public policies.

A profile feed is fast to start and expensive in attention. Our product makes a different trade: more context during setup, fewer people to evaluate later.

Find Your Person begins with a guided interview about relationship goals, values, habits, communication preferences, and dealbreakers. Those answers help create a member profile and interview-derived matching signals. Members can also complete an optional photo-pair exercise to personalize visual-preference signals.

What happens before an introduction.

The system first checks reciprocal discovery preferences such as age, gender, and distance. It then combines several weighted signals: a modeled conversation, photo-preference fit, discovery fit, interview-derived traits, engagement, and confidence in the available evidence. A candidate must clear the matching threshold from both members’ perspectives.

That is the reason for the extra work up front. The product is not claiming it can identify a perfect partner. It is trying to remove clearly incompatible options before they consume either person’s attention.

Why the field can be smaller than expected.

The free plan is designed for up to three shown introductions per week, not a guaranteed weekly delivery. A member may see fewer when the local pool is still growing or when no eligible candidate clears the threshold. We would rather state that constraint plainly than imply that software can manufacture a compatible person on schedule.

The tradeoff is intentional.

This approach is not for everyone. If you want to browse broadly, a discovery-first product may fit better. Find Your Person is for people willing to share more context so the first set of choices can be narrower and easier to understand.

You've done enough scrolling.
